The Antelope, Tooting Broadway, South London

South London is and will defiantly continue to be my favourite stomping ground.
I have lived in London for almost 8 years and 7.5 of those years have been in South London.

Tooting Broadway, a special place and made famous for it's long strip of curry houses, an interesting indoor market, home to St George's Hospital, a big Primark, Tooting Lido up the road and a vast amount of pound and chicken shops.

You can pretty much find anything you need in Tooting!!
Plus the wonderful local residents, (who like a good drink) have an option of some pretty good decent boozers!

The Antelope

The Antelope, a great pub and restaurant is just of the high street but still in the centre of Tooting.  It's a great choice for after work drinks (being a 5 minute walk from Tooting Broadway Tube) a fab place to meet friends, a good choice for a dinner date and with a 12am license a good place for a late night drink.
My last visit was on Friday 18th January 2013, it was nice and busy, snow was falling outside and to escape into a world of warmth and comfort was very much appreciated by all inside.

I drank a few pints of Meantime PA, which was severed well in it's correct glass and looked and tasted great, I love Meantime PA for its delicious, dark, full hoppy flavours. At 4.3% abv it's a good medium strength beer with Lot's to offer and you can  certainly feel a good night coming after 3 pints.
(Please drink Responsibly).

The Antelope team are always happy to serve and genuinely look happy to be at work, they are always smiling.

I didn’t eat this time but I know the food is good, (as I have eaten plenty of times before and also know the head Chef Raf) The restaurant was rather busy and everyone looked like they were having a great night.

The Antelope is a great place to hide away from a cold winters night, they now have an updated garden/courtyard nicely presented with wooden picnic benches and leafy plants.
A nice place to chill and get away from the hustle and bustle of Tooting High street.
They now have a fab new function room available to hire for parties, weddings, dinner parties etc etc, check out the link to see pictures and all details,

There is a good mixture of clientele here which I much prefer, there were plenty of groups ladies which suggests it's female friendly.
I will always choose a place to drink if I feel comfortable to drink alone at the bar.

Over all, a great place in Tooting Broadway, one of the best in South London, I'd say in the top 20.
Something for everyone and happy to please.
Reasonably priced beer to be in a nice place.
Good Food, good variety of drinks
Great space
But they do need to improve the toilets!!

Find out more about them here.
