Oh Yes... Summer Is Here!
For
me it can never come too soon. I dread the cold, long, dark days of the winter months and I pine and pine for some sun and warmer weather. I do truly believe
that London does come to life in the summer and with
more and more pop up bars, gardens, outdoor entertainment, festivals and fairs
you will always find something for all flavours and tastes. So if
you're making plans for the next few weeks then check out my top hang outs;

29th June AMooseBush's Dinner of Champions at Pip's Dish in
Islington
AMooseBush
are back at Pip's Dish in Islington for another dinner, this time called Dinner
of Champions. AMooseBush are also at Kitchen Party in Clerkenwell on
Saturday 6th July. "AMooseBush
are a foursome of family members consisting of Robert, Fred, Cara and Rob who
are on a singular mission to champion the regional Italian dishes that have
been handed down the family through Nonna Bianca and Nonno Giuseppe. The
north and south of Italy famously can't agree on how anything should be cooked
and having a grandparent from each side certainly caused some fireworks in the
kitchen. Now that the kids are all grown up, it’s their turn to make the same
sparks fly as they argue about the best way to cook the artichokes. Join
them on Saturday 29th June when they'll be returning to Pipsdish in Islington
to cook up the dishes that they love to eat... their Dinner of Champions. On
offer will be: Homemade
bread *** Panzanella
(v) *** Chicken
Milanese with peperonata, peas with pancetta and mashed potato (Vegetarian
option available) *** Orange
cake with caramel ice cream"

Italian
Supper Club The Backdoor Kitchen are moving out of their home to host three
Sundays in Market Row, Brixton, in the space above Cannon & Cannon.
It's divided into two parts - a brunch from noon until 2.30pm, and then a
real Italian Aperitivo experience with two sittings, at 3pm and
4.30pm.
"Friends of the Backdoor here we are for our first pop-up series
which will hit the vibrant atmosphere of Brixton, just one level up Cannon and
Cannon in Market Row. For 3 Sundays Salon@Brixton will be the extended version
- and the larger home - of the BackDoor Kitchen. Starting from the 21st of July
we will be having a luscious brunch followed by a real Italian Aperitivo
experience.
So
leave your beliefs on Italian cuisine behind and get ready for twists, swings,
special effects and hearty authentic cuisine. 3 main courses followed by
dessert and a cocktail to compliment you at arrival.
Brunch will be
Always changing featuring signature dishes and showcasing our concept which is
working around traditional and forgotten recipes and giving them back to guests
with a twist. People will seat along each other eating from communal plates
sometimes. The atmosphere wants to be the one of friends gathering up together
and catching up around good food, wine and cocktails. The Italian Aperitivo
experience looks at "The Sweet Life" era, bringing back to life the
rituals and pleasures of an Italian cocktail bar with random dishes served
along iconic drinks and wines. Wines and more cocktails will be available at
our - cash only - Backdoor Bar and there will be a hell of a list!”

My
New Favorite Hangout!
Brixton
Market and Village
http://brixtonmarket.net/info/brixton-village/
In my
first year of being a Londoner I moved to Josephine Avenue in Brixton, oh back
in 2007.I
remember feeling rather excited, my first flat in London.I
then went on to move to Tooting and now Balham, apart from a short stint in
North Finchley I have always been south!I Love
it!So
back to Brixton... what a crazy place... always full of surprises and
interesting people throughout. The mix of culture, vibes and energies really
creates a dynamic experience for those who reside or for those who visit. With
so many new pubs, bars and eateries opening up each week, you will not get
bored wondering the streets of Brixton. Check
out my current favorite hangouts
Seven Brixton
Market
This
amazing little tapas bar located close to the entrance of the first stretch of
Brixton market and Village is now a very popular place.Serving
amazing cocktails such as Mother’s Ruin and my favorite, the Ginger Beer and
Basil Mojito.I
just love their sharing platter of Chorizo, peppers, Parma ham, breads, cheeses
and oils, this costs £20 but worth every penny as it’s fully loaded, a great
sharer for two-three people.Downstairs
is always packed but you can often find somewhere to sit in their secret
upstairs rooms.It’s
decorated with modern art, girls in raincoats, coats painted in different
colours hanging on the walls. With all
it’s hidden rooms and tables it’s a really great place for a mate date or a
secret first date.Come
and share this great place with me soon.
